Rev. Chad Johnson

USA

Chad is an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. He serves at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Vancouver, Washington as associate pastor and leads ministries of youth and family, evangelism, and social outreach.  He has formerly served as Midland Lutheran College Student President; was resident at Abiding Hope Lutheran Church in Littleton, Colorado; Ministry Assistant at All Saints Lutheran Church in Columbus, Ohio; and co-chair of the Southwest Washington Synod Youth Team.

He has been studying leadership in emerging cultures while pursuing his doctorate in ministry. He came to Global PeaceWorks as a committed Lutheran seeking to better understand other faiths so he could better serve his congregation and all people.

This is Chad's summary of his Global PeaceWorks experience.

"Global PeaceWorks is a knock down, drag out, heart moving, earth shaking, life altering, eye opening, spirit filling experience. I believe the work of this organization is making its best attempt at accomplishing exactly what God desires in the world."

With Fazida Razak of Singapore in discussion.  Dialogue and friendship with people of other faiths is an essentail part of Global PeaceWorks.

Living as a global village for two weeks, we were able to fully immerse ourselves into the lives of one another. Never have I been a part of a group that was so intent on being with and for one another. It is because we all came with the same vision and purpose. We gathered to serve, to get dirty, to be stretched, to live and model peace. Because of that, each of us were able to be sent our separate ways all while carrying forward this unique faith-filled and life shaping experience of peace.

I have no doubt that each of those present will acomplish great things for the sake of humanity. I have no doubt that these brothers and sisters will continue to live out this vision in their communites. I have no doubt, that each one they come into contact with will be positively influenced for peace-filled living among all people. I have no doubt, that Global PeaceWorks will be a major player at the table of conversation and in the field of peace service work. It is for these things I am eternally grateful.

We often hear the statement, "this is one of the best kept secrets." It is said when we experience something special that few, if any, know about.  Global PeaceWorks was a best kept secret, but it should not be kept a secret!. May all who desire peace, faithfully, passionately, and humbly, connect with one another. This world needs a vision of peace, and through agencies like Global PeaceWorks, we can be that vision.
